At Morning Star, the Power of Sport is in building a lifelong love for physical activity through an inclusive sports culture that is reflective of our values: Faith-centred education, holistic development, individual worth and character and sportsmanship.

Our Core Values:

Faith-Centred Education

Our identity as a Christian institution shapes everything we do, instilling biblical principles and Christ-like character in our students.

Holistic Development

We are committed to nurturing both academic excellence and growth in sports, ensuring a well-rounded education.

Individual Worth

Every child is valued as a unique creation made in the image of God, deserving of guidance, encouragement and opportunities to thrive.

Character and Sportsmanship

We emphasise integrity, perseverance and the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control) cultivating a strong moral foundation in both in the classroom and on the field.

Introducing sport at a young age is essential in shaping a positive attitude toward physical activity, one that encourages resilience, discipline and a lifelong commitment to health. At Morning Star, sport is not just about competition; it is about instilling the right attitude toward movement, encouraging children to love to sweat and finding joy in even the most basic exercises, such as walking.

The ultimate goal is to teach pupils the value of starting and finishing a race, a principle that extends beyond the sports field into every aspect of life. Through sport, children learn the importance of perseverance, effort and the satisfaction of achieving a goal, regardless of the obstacles they may face along the way.

At Morning Star, our House system plays a pivotal role in stimulating this mindset. Each student is assigned to one of three Houses:

  • Gad – “Mighty Warriors”
  • Issachar – “Mighty Men of Valour”
  • Zebulun – “Dwelling in Honour”

This allocation is a significant moment in their school journey, as it connects them to a legacy of camaraderie, teamwork and excellence. Through House activities, competitions and events, students not only build their athletic abilities but also develop leadership skills, teamwork and a strong sense of belonging.

Beyond sports, Houses provide a platform for students to engage in academic challenges, community service projects and friendly competitions with their peers, both within the school and across the region. This holistic approach ensures that children grow not just as athletes but as well-rounded individuals who understand the value of teamwork, discipline and personal growth.

By making physical activity an enjoyable and integral part of their daily lives, we equip our students with a lifelong appreciation for physical activity – that strengthens their bodies, sharpens their minds and enriches their lives well into adulthood. At Morning Star, sport is more than just a game – IT IS A FOUNDATION FOR CHARACTER, RESILIENCE AND LIFELONG SUCCESS!
